December Meeting – Elastic Beanstalk and Amazon

The December 2012 meeting will be held on Monday, December 10th from 6pm – 8pm at TechColumbus (1275 Kinnear Rd, Columbus, OH 43212).

We are very happy to have Travis Smith joining us this month to share information on using Elastic Beanstalk with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Please continue to tell your friends about COCCUG! They can find us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/coccug and also at www.meetup.com/coccug. Please RSVP for meetings via www.meetup.com/coccug.

We are happy to have Halcyon Solutions joining us this month as a sponsor!

Jack (or Java) and the Bean Stalk

We’ll discuss how elastic beanstalk works, show what it takes to setup a simple Java web app and launch it up in Amazon. Talk about other services that can be easily leveraged within AWS to help support application deployments of this type.

Travis is a polygot developer with a physics background, who has had the chance to build some really cool things and some not so cool other things. Travis is also heavily involved in open source projects, including MassTransit and Topshelf. Travis spends his time speaking at events, watching his cat chase a laser pointer, and playing board games.
