March 2014 Meeting

Docker: When You Want the Cloud, but Don’t Want to Pay for It

Abstract: Building your own SaaS pretty much requires a PaaS if you truly want to leverage the power and flexibility the cloud holds.  Should you use Amazon for that PaaS? CloudFoundry? Heroku?  Then again, why do you need to choose?  Using Docker, you can write an application and run it on any of the platforms mentioned, or you can simply build your own platform

Bio: Bill Klos is a Senior Architect for Centric Consulting and part of Centric’s Innovation & Research group.  He has a bizarre affinity for fixed-width fonts and anything that has an “i” in front of it.
